Gretna, NE (October 12, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident reported in eastern Nebraska claimed the life of one man while leaving two others injured. On October 8, the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a crash on Nebraska State Highway 370.
Reports from authorities show that 58-year-old Gregory Brennan was driving down Nebraska State Highway 370 when a vehicle made a left turn in front of him at the intersection with Wickersham Boulevard causing the two vehicles to collide.
The impact of the crash sent the cement truck into a ditch where it overturned. Brennan sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the car, identified as an 18-year-old from the Murdock area, and his passenger, a 68-year-old woman, were both injured in the accident. Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are underway with the Sheriff’s Office.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Gregory Brennan, the victims injured, their families, and everyone who has been affected by this accident.
Fatal Truck Accidents in Nebraska
Being involved in an auto accident can have a detrimental impact on the lives of those involved. Unfortunately, families throughout our state are forced to endure the overwhelming consequences of these unimaginable and preventable accidents every day in our state. More than 215 people lose their lives in auto accidents across Nebraska each year. Many victims lose their lives in accidents involving semi-trucks. The massive size of these vehicles increases the chances of fatal injuries for victims, especially those inside smaller vehicles during collisions. These accidents leave families to deal with overwhelming mental, emotional, and financial consequences after losing their loved ones unexpectedly.
As if that were not enough, families are often required to spend tens of thousands of dollars on unexpected funeral costs and other financial burdens resulting from the loss of a loved one. Although there is no amount of compensation that can ever take away the pain and suffering families are forced to endure, having the resources available after a tragic accident can help families cover the financial burdens they face moving forward.
