Omaha, NE (September 23, 2020) – A motorcycle accident reported in the Omaha area claimed one person’s life on Monday.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., on September 21, the Omaha Fire & Rescue responded to the site of a crash, along with the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office. Reports show that a Mazda 3 was traveling west on Harrison Street, driven by 74-year-old Susan Barrett, when her vehicle collided with an eastbound motorcycle at the intersection with 132nd Street.
Barrett sustained minor injuries in the accident.
The driver of the motorcycle, who was identified as 23-year-old Nicholas Scarpino, suffered major injuries in the accident. Scarpino was rushed to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy for treatment immediately following the accident. Authorities confirmed that the victim succumbed to his injuries at around 10 p.m. that evening.
At this time, the police in Omaha are investigating the crash.
