Platte Valley, NE (December 17, 2020) – One man has lost his life following a traffic collision on Tuesday evening near the Valley area. On December 15, just before 11 p.m., emergency crews were called to the site of a crash on 323rd Street.
Reports from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office show that 38-year-old Timothy Compton was driving a Mazda 6 sedan on the southbound lane near 323rd Street and Reichmuth Road when his vehicle was hit head-on by a Ford F-150 pickup truck, which was driven by 39-year-old George Plofkin.
Compton’s vehicle was then struck by a Nissan Titan pickup truck, which was driven by 55-year-old Wyatt Rhone. Compton sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Rhone and his passenger, as well as Plofkin, were all transported to area hospitals for the treatment of injuries. At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
