Fatal Premises Liability in Nebraska
Every year, thousands of people are injured in accidents resulting from the negligent or reckless actions of others. When these accidents take place at the homes and businesses of others, property owners and managers can be held liable for any resulting damages. Property owners are required to maintain safe premises for guests, which means securing any swimming areas, ensuring grounds are safe to travel upon, and implementing adequate safety measures to protect patrons. When children are involved in drowning accidents, homeowners can be held liable in instances where they fail to adequately secure the pool, when they fail to monitor children in the pool, and when they act with negligence regarding measures taken to ensure the safety of guests.
The unfortunate truth is that the majority of accidents throughout the state of Nebraska are a result of negligence. Although we can be diligent and in control of our actions, there is little we can do to ensure others act in the same responsible manner. Regrettably, these incidents claim the lives of numerous people across our state annually. As if that were not enough, families are often required to spend tens of thousands of dollars on unexpected funeral costs and other financial burdens resulting from the loss of a loved one. Although there is no amount of compensation that can ever take away the pain and suffering families are forced to endure, having the resources available after a tragic accident can help families cover the financial burdens they face moving forward. When people lose their lives in accidents as a result of another person’s actions, it is crucial that their families contact a wrongful death attorney in Nebraska at their earliest convenience.
