Diller, NE (October 27, 2020) – An accident reported in the Diller area on Friday claimed one person’s life. At around 2:45 p.m., on October 23, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of a vehicle collision on Nebraska 103.
Reports from authorities show that 33-year-old Desiree Kunzman was driving southbound on Nebraska 103 in a 2018 Kia Soul when her vehicle collided with an eastbound 2007 Buick Lucerne, which was driven by 71-year-old Linda Behrends, at the intersection with PWF Road.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the crash. The passenger in the Buick, identified as 78-year-old Howard Behrends, sustained fatal injuries. He was transported from the scene of the crash to a Lincoln hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Firefighters extricated Linda Behrends from her vehicle and rushed her to a hospital in Jefferson County. Kunzman was transported to a Beatrice hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. At this time, investigations surrounding the crash are underway.
