Eagle, NE (November 16, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Saturday claimed the life of a teen in the Eagle area. During the evening hours of November 14, the police and firefighters in Eagle were called to the scene of a crash on US Highway 34.
Reports from authorities show that at approximately 8:45 p.m., a 2011 Nissan Altima and a 2013 Dodge Charger were involved in a collision on US Highway 34 near the intersection with Nebraska Highway 63. The Nissan then continued forward and crashed into a telephone pole. The crash left both vehicles severely damaged while causing extensive delays in traffic throughout the area.
The driver of the Charger, 18-year-old Macy Persinger from Eagle, and her passenger, 18-year-old Hunter Tucker, from Ashland, were both treated at the scene and released.
A passenger in the Altima, identified as a 17-year-old female, was pinned inside the vehicle. Firefighters extricated the girl. She was transported via medical helicopter to Lincoln’s Bryan Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Altima, a second 17-year-old female, was ejected from the vehicle. She sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Lincoln’s Bryan Medical Center for treatment. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
