Omaha, NE (September 25, 2020) – An accident reported in the Omaha area left one person seriously injured. At around 10:15 a.m., on September 22, the police and firefighters in Omaha responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near North 180th Street.
Reports show that an object flew off a vehicle and struck an SUV on the road. This caused a major delay in traffic near North 180th Street and West Dodge Road. As a result of the initial collision, vehicles began to stop suddenly. As the vehicles came to a halt, a one-ton truck and a silver pickup truck collided.
The driver of the pickup truck, who was described as a 61-year-old male, was seriously injured in this accident. The man had to be extricated by firefighters at the scene. Lifenet was called to the scene. However, the victim was able to be loaded quickly into an ambulance and rushed away from the scene.
The injured man was transported to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy for treatment of Code 3 traumatic injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
