Beatrice, NE (April 13, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident that occurred late Friday evening claimed the life of one victim in Beatrice. On April 10, the Nebraska State Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal auto accident on US Highway 77.
Reports indicate that 23-year-old Corey Summers was traveling along the highway when a collision occurred with a pickup truck just six miles north of Beatrice. The impact of the collision sent Summers’ vehicle off the west side of the highway, where it rolled over several times before coming to rest in a field. It is unclear how the collision occurred at this time.
Summers suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was declared deceased at the scene. Two other people who were involved in the crash were transported to Bryan Health West for treatment of their injuries.
The Nebraska State Patrol is continuing to investigate the collision.
Our thoughts are with both victims, their families, and everyone who was affected by this fatal accident.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of Corey Summers.
