Omaha, NE (July 8, 2020) – An automobile accident in Omaha sent two victims to local hospitals with injuries, according to reports. At approximately 7:10 p.m., on July 7, the Omaha Fire Department responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on Interstate 680.
Reports provided by the Omaha Police Department show that a dark-colored pickup truck, a dark-colored SUV, and a third vehicle collided along the roadway due to one of the involved drivers losing control of their vehicle while traveling at a high rate of speed. The accident, which occurred near the on-ramp for the Interstate 80 East interchange, caused the pickup truck to roll over and land on its roof.
A 45-year-old female and a 20-year-old male both suffered injuries in the accident. Both victims were transported to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy for treatment. Alcohol is believed to have played a factor in this accident. At this time, OPD is investigating.
