Omaha, NE (October 7, 2020) – One person lost their life in a serious crash in Omaha on Tuesday morning. At approximately 10:45 a.m., on October 6, the Omaha Fire Department responded to the scene of an accident on L Street.
Reports provided by local news reporters indicate that a motorcyclist was traveling through the intersection of L Street and 35th Street when they were struck by a semi-truck. The motorcyclist was ejected and flew under the front tire of a van driven by 48-year-old Angela Hathaway. At the scene, the victim was in and out of consciousness as crews worked to extricate the victim.
Firefighters were able to use a jack to lift the van off the rider. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Andy Mendoza, was rushed to Nebraska Medicine Nebraska Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
